Understand and Communicate Your Feelings

Feelings can be elusive or overwhelming, so knowing what you feel is not always easy. When you understand your own thoughts, feelings, and reactions will improve your relationships, because understanding yourself makes it easier to communicate with others. Seek to understand what you feel, how much of it is related to the present moment, current events, your physical state, and how much is related to your personal history. Caring about what you feel and knowing more about it actually makes you more compassionate, empathetic, and caring toward others. Awareness and understanding of your own feelings also means you'll be much more intelligent about others' feelings-that is, you'll have the wisdom of your own feelings to help you sort out when others' feelings are real or deceptive.

If you're upset, confused or feeling emotionally overwhelmed, knowing how to sort out your feelings can help you figure out what's going on inside and help you get what you want and need.

Notice your feelings. Are you anxious, tense, or worried about something? Are you calm? Focus on your breathing and feel the body sensations that go with it-the cool air coming in, the rhythm of your lungs expanding and deflating. If you pay attention to your breathing for a little while, it helps you be more aware of your feelings. Are you reacting emotionally to your surroundings? If it's noisy, are you annoyed? If it's too quiet, are you uneasy? If you're warm and comfy, do you feel peaceful and soothed? It's usually easier to feel feelings if you give them a little time to rise to the surface and if you're in a place where you won't be disturbed, but they are moving through you every moment of every day. When you take the time to notice them, you can often use that information to help you handle situations wisely.

Whether you realize it or not, there is a lot of chatter going on in your mind. At this moment, you may be arguing or agreeing with what you're reading, or commenting on whether you think this is helpful, or criticizing or worrying about whether you're doing it correctly. Bits of songs, movie or TV dialogue, or conversations from other times and places may be running by like a background soundtrack. Sit and listen for a few moments, and try to identify each thought that goes by. With a little practice, you'll become aware of a "soundtrack" composed of memories, thoughts, criticisms, background noise, TV, music, movies, the news, and other noises you've recorded in your lifetime.

If you practice this awareness of your inner thoughts and feelings, you'll soon be able to quickly sort out what's going on with you, and, if you do it repeatedly over several days, you'll find that your self-knowledge grows rapidly. After a few weeks, you'll be much more aware of your own body, your feelings, and your thoughts. Once aware, you have a chance to manage and/or change them to be more effective for you. Accurate awareness of your thoughts, feelings, and actions is the key to understanding and communicating them.

Being curious about your emotions and thoughts will lead you to understanding and to explanations of things that, until now, have been mystifying. What's underneath your depression, your anxiety, your impulsive behaviors, your out-of-control emotions? Getting interested in what you think and feel, as you would be in what is going on with your friend, your spouse, or your children will help you improve your relationship with yourself and with others.

Your own emotions tell you what others' feelings are. We can sense how someone feels without being told. By comparing what our other senses tell us about others (smiles, frowns, tension, "prickly vibes," relaxed breathing, and an indescribable type of data we call empathy) with what we know about our own inner feelings, we draw conclusions about what other people are feeling. Without being told, we know when someone is angry, when someone has strong positive or negative feelings toward us, and when we are loved. Understanding gives us something to communicate.

Here's how to open up communication with another person:

1. Don't talk, listen. Some people are less verbal than others, and when we get nervous, we verbal ones tend to talk and talk. Resist the impulse to take over the conversation, and give the other person time to talk.

2. Don't be worried about a little silence: give the other person a chance fill it.

3. When you do talk, end your (brief) story with a question: "What do you think? or Was it like that for you?" That invites the other person to answer.

4. Treat the conversation like a tennis match: say something, then give the other person a chance to respond... take your time.

5. No complaining count your blessings, and say positive things. Everyone responds better to that.

Use Your Subconscious Mind to Remove Fear

People the world over are talking about the supernatural powers of the subconscious mind. Unfortunately, many are clueless about such a phenomenon. One hardly has the time or inclination to give a thought to the functioning of the mind.

Many wise men who have walked this planet have advocated the supremacy of the human mind over the mundane aspects of life. The power of mind is such that it can alleviate the anxiety caused by certain activities. The immense power of the subconscious mind can be effectively used to remove the fear of failure in any venture of yours.

For instance, if you are an entrepreneur starting your own Internet business or home-based business, you are likely to have a thousand questions arising in your mind about the future of the business activity you have taken up. When you aspire to become a successful entrepreneur, you need to either possess or develop the following qualities:

o Hard work, no matter what hurdles come your way.
o Determination to reach your goals.
o Dedication toward your work.
o Positive attitude to accomplish anything.
o The right mindset for overall success.

The right mindset is indeed the most crucial requirement for launching a business of your own. You need to overcome a common fear that prevails among entrepreneurs - fear of failure. Unless you eliminate this fear from your mind, it's certain that success will evade you. The power of the subconscious mind is so great that it enables you to carry out the things that you desire.

It is really possible to create and live the life you want with the help of the power of the subconscious mind. Inspiration, courage and wisdom lie deep within each of us, but we fail to recognize them. These virtues can be brought out and put to great use in developing your business to a very high level and in turn, your life by using the sub consciousness.

The magical powers of the subconscious mind free you from the limitations of fear and frustration. To carry on a business, online or offline, you should be equipped with courage and confidence to succeed. If you are afraid that you will have to face failure and hesitate to do the required activities, it is likely that you'll really land up in an adverse situation.

What you think, so you are. It is your thoughts and feelings that determine your mind's condition. Your sub consciousness controls your thought processes. Keep telling yourself that you are going to gain success in your business venture and you will. If you are optimistic, you are going to be successful. If not, it's going to be the other way.

The sub consciousness imposes its thoughts on the conscious mind, enabling your inner desire to become a reality. Anything is possible by tuning your sub conscious mind and you must not underestimate its power. This truly powerful tool is capable of guiding you in all kinds of circumstances.

When you recognize its importance and start listening to it, your sub consciousness will help in developing the fundamental qualities, such as optimism and positive attitude, which are extremely essential to run a business. It would do you a lot of good to listen to your sub consciousness before you take any crucial business decisions.

By using your subconscious mind, you can overcome your fear of failure and make the most of the business opportunities that come your way. You can enjoy unlimited financial freedom and live a life free from stress and worry by believing in the power of the subconscious mind.

How To Remove Fear Spiritually

One of the most distressing emotions that people have is fear, be it real or imagined. The fear could be related to starting a new job, giving a public talk, doing something new and challenging, or even taking a test. Fear clouds a person's judgment and can stop you in your tracks.

Imagine that the thing you are fearful of is actually a wonderful experience to let go and grow. You may be wondering how do I do this?

Try this spiritual technique which works to clear the fear so that the precious guidance from Holy Spirit can come in, bringing clarity, peace and guidance. I call it the Fear Room Technique.

Imagine you're in a room with 5 windows with the shades pulled down. When you walk in the room, you see that on the walls are all of your fears, limiting beliefs and/or negative thoughts. You have an eraser in your hand and you go back and forth removing all of the fears, limiting beliefs and negative thoughts from the walls. To be extra thorough, you then take a hose and going back and forth, you wash the walls, even the ceiling and the floors. To be sure that no fears, limiting beliefs and/or negative thoughts are in the crevices, you use a laser beam and go up and down the corners or wherever you feel a thought may still be. As a final step, you walk around the room pulling the shades up bringing light into the room. Look around the room - feel the positive energy.

Here are two more techniques I'd like to suggest:

Imagine that your fear is here to teach you something. Ask what is its purpose? Is it to help you grow or keep you stuck where you are? Is the fear keeping you from being the best you can be? Pay attention to your feelings, your thoughts.

Place your fear(s) in a basket and give it to your spiritual master and have a farewell party for it!

I look forward to hearing how these exercises made or makes a difference in your life.

What Are You Afraid Of?

What are you afraid of? I get that asked a lot and on a conscious level that is quite a question, as I have been afraid of heights and afraid of open water. How did I get over it? Quite simply I had to push myself through the fear factor.

I was on holiday by myself and was looking to do parasailing, but everyday I would talk myself out of doing it because I was thinking along the lines of "What if the rope snaps?" "What if I can't swim?".  I know some of you may well be on that thought pattern with me.

I got to the penultimate day of the holiday and something in my head said "just do it!" I was a bit shocked at myself and I just got out of the comfort zone and suddenly I am on a boat going out to sea about to do something that scared me.

I won't lie, even on the boat I am thinking about what I had committed to, and that I could just not do it. To make it worse I was also in the second place I hated to be. But I knew that I would kick myself if I did not do it after paying all the money for the experience, so when it came to who was going to go first, I raised my hand and before I knew I was attached to all the equipment and in the air.

What I can tell you is that going through that fear factor and suddenly being up in the air was an amazing experience, and it was so blissful and I did not want it to end.

Every holiday I go on now, I challenge myself to try something that would put me out of my comfort zone. Last year I was in Spain and my girlfriend and I went to do some open sea snorkeling, and I knew it was going to test me. At first I was only happy to be around the boat, I wanted the safety net of being able to get out if I did not feel comfortable. I also remember on that trip there was a lady who would not get off the boat, and I looked at her thinking firstly, I understand your thinking right now, but also at the same time thinking I cannot waste an opportunity.

So I started to venture away from the boat and I started to take in water, which can lead to panic but the problem was I had ventured too far from the boat to be rescued so I had a choice to make, either to panic and make the situation worse, or work out how to breathe so that I could stop taking in water. I chose the latter option, and I am so glad I did because I was absolutely buzzing afterwards, because I had firstly overcome another fear, but also because to see some really beautiful sights that I would not have seen if I had just stayed on the boat.

So the lesson is this, push through the fear and do it anyway, because excitement and exhilaration is on the other side of fear.

John Lee - Fear is Fake

Is fear real? Now I believe to a certain degree that it is not, with one or two exceptions, such as the fear of lions and poisonous snakes.  The reason for that they are built in to every human being as part of a survival instinct.

Today's video is from John Lee and he goes over why Fear is Fake. Do you agree with this - let me know in the comments below.

4 Simple Steps to Shift Your Mindset for Success Inside and Out

This week's article is about how to shift your mindset for success inside and out. I'm sharing four simple steps for you to have a mindset shift with the intention that you can use these tools to change your thinking, and eventually change your life.

Every day is a new day, and today you will have the necessary tool to create and have a more prosperous, joyful and harmonious business and life so you can really say to yourself, I'm really going for my dreams and living the way I'm supposed to live here on Earth.

From today you can feel inspired, excited and looking forward to achieving any business or personal goal you set your mind to because you know that you will achieve it. Today I'll give what can be called the secret of life; you may not believe it yet, but please be open and experiment this simple, yet powerful tool.

So, what's this all about? It's about, what I call, limitations. We all have limitations which restrict our abilities to do certain things in business and life. Have you ever tried to do something which you knew deep inside that you could do it but the thought in your head stopped you from doing it? If it did stop you, it is clearly that you have limitations. Limitations are thoughts that you have, the voice inside of your head that limits you to really move forward in business and life.

The good news is with the tool I'm presenting to you today, you'll be able to remove all your limitations, the 'voice' that lies to you, which tells you that you are not worth, that you cannot do things even though you know deep down inside that you can.

As spiritual beings living in a physical body we have all the resources needed to achieve and do anything we want in business and life. These (resources) tools are your thoughts and beliefs. The truth is you can use your thoughts and beliefs to create anything you want in life.

The challenge is a lot of what we think and say is quite limited or negative and do not create a good experience for us. So, to shift your mindset for success inside and out, the key is to change the beliefs we hold in our minds, the negative or limiting thoughts that come to our mind even though most of us know that they are not true.

Using the tool I'm presenting here, what is called: "Affirmation" opens the door for your new way of thinking and seeing things that support your growth in business and life. This tool is just a starting point so you can begin to change the thoughts you have in your subconscious mind.

The reality is what you are really doing is saying to your subconscious mind that "I AM in charge, I'm AWARE that I can change; I'm taking the control of my life." When I'm talking about doing "affirmations," I'm suggesting to choose specific words that can help you eliminate something you do not want to create, and instead choose what you DO want to create - something you REALLY want in your life.

From my own personal experience, I've realized that every thought I have and every word I say is an affirmation. You and I are using affirmations whether we know it or not, and most importantly we are creating everything in our lives using these affirmations.

My recommendation here is for you to start paying attention to your thoughts so you can start to eliminate the thoughts that do not support you in your journey during your time here on Earth. For example, every time you think "I do not want poverty," you are attracting more poverty to your life. If you have a thought that ""life is not supporting you," what you are really saying - putting out in the universe - is that you are not living the way you should live. I suggest you to change the way you talk to yourself. If you have negative or limiting thoughts in your mind, it does not mean that you are not a good person or that you cannot have what you desire, what you need to do is to change the way you talk to yourself.

Probably you talk the way your parents talk and your parents learned to talk the same way your grandparents talk. Most likely your parents taught you how to talk and you also learned a lot of things from the environment you grew up. Nobody is wrong but it is time for you to consciously choose your thoughts that really support and please you. If I can do it, and many people have done it, so can you.

Some people say that affirmations do not work which it is an affirmation itself. What they really mean is that they do not know how to use them correctly. They may say "I'm getting healthier" and the voice inside say "It is stupid and it will not work." Which affirmation do you think will win? The negative one, as it is a long stand part of a habitual way of looking at life.

Affirmation can be compared to seed and soil; if you plant a seed in a poor soil it may or may not grow. The more you choose to think thoughts that make you feel good, and more important that really goes deep emotionally, the faster the affirmation works.

Now, today you have the power to choose the thoughts you are thinking. Your negative or limiting thoughts will not disappear completely in one day, but if you consistently think thoughts that make you feel good, enlightened, you will definitely start making changes in every area of your life.

Here's the thing: we have only one time we are in control of, we have only one time we choose to feel good and this time is NOW. The 'now' is the only time we realistic live in. If we do not live well at this moment, how come will we live happy in the future? We do not have control of the past and the future, the only moment we have control of is the now. If we do not choose to feel good in this moment how can we create future moments that are abundant, successful and fun?

How do you feel right now? Do you feel good or bad? What kind of emotions are you feeling? Would you like to feel better? If so, choose a better thought. What you decide to think is what you will get in life.

Doing affirmations is consciously choosing to think certain thoughts that will create positive results in the future. Affirmative statements are going beyond the reality of the present into the creation of the future by the word you use now. For instance, you may have very little money in the bank, but when you affirm "I am prosperous," you are planting a seed of prosperity into the future. Each time you affirm it, you are nourishing the seed into your mind. After a period of time, your mind will do whatever it has to do to grow that seed. Things grow much quicker in a fertile rich soil than in a poor soil.

Now you may be asking. How can I use affirmations to start shifting my mindset for success inside and out, and eventually change my life to a more prosperous, joyful and harmonious life? To help you do just that, I'd like to share with you four simple steps that you can apply immediately and get great results today.

4 Simple Steps to Shift Your Mindset for Success Inside and Out

Step1: Be aware of your thoughts.

The first step to shift your mindset for success inside and out, and therefore change your life is to be aware of your thoughts. Awareness is always the first step. When negative or limiting thoughts come to your mind, instead of trying to stop them and waste a lot of energy and effort, ignore them and use an opposite thought.

Step 2: Shift your negative or limiting thought to an opposite, abundant thought.

After being aware, conscious of your thoughts, the next step is to shift this negative, limiting thought to an opposite, abundant thought. More important, use only thoughts that are aligned with your goals, dreams, passions and purpose, start shifting from limiting thoughts which make you feel anxious, worried and frustrated, to all those unlimited thoughts that make you feel good, abundant and successful inside and out.

It's a great idea if you do not spend any time questioning negative or limiting thoughts. After step 1 you'll be aware of your negative or limiting thoughts, so immediately change the 'thought' with an affirmation that is the opposite of that negative or limiting thought, doing so you'll start attracting things that are aligned with your true unlimited thoughts.

Step 3: Use present tense, ALWAYS!

Your affirmations MUST be stated in the present. For example, "I have" or "I am." If you say, "I will have," it will stay in the future. The universe takes your words very literally the way you say what you want. So use present tense, ALWAYS!

Step 4: Repeat the affirmation as often as possible.

You can choose to do your affirmations anytime of the day. However, the best time to do them is before going to bed in the evening so your subconscious mind will work to make your affirmations your reality while you are sleeping.

Here are some good examples of affirmations to help you start creating positive results in business and life right now:

I live my life with passion and purpose.
I have an abundance of clients flowing to my business.
I love and appreciate my body.
Money flows into my life in an abundant way.
I allow my body to return to its natural and vibrant health.
I can do whatever I set my mind.

Every positive thought brings good into your life, every negative thought pushes good away. So why not choose a prosperous, joyful, beautiful, lovely thought that will make you feel good? The choice is YOURS.

Authentic Business Success in Action

Follow these 4 simple, yet effective steps and consciously choose to shift your mindset for success inside and out now so that you can finally live an abundant, prosperous, joyful and harmonious life and LOVE every moment of it. Go and do it and start getting greater results today.

The Number One Mindset For Success That You Must Adopt

You are about to discover the number one mindset for success that never fails in this article. Most people fail to produce the results they want in their life simply because they do not possess the mindset that will make them successful in life.

And as long as you adopt this mindset into your life, you will notice positive changes started to take place. As a result, you will improve the quality of your life and move toward the direction of your goals and your dreams.

The number one mindset for success is this, you must take 100% responsibility of your life. If you do not adopt this mindset, you will never produce the results that you want, period. One of the most common reasons people fail to produce what they want in their life is simply because they are not taking responsibility in their life. Most of them will blame and give excuses that limit their potential.

The moment you blame or give excuses, you will never have the power to control the situation. For example, if you run a business and it goes bankrupt, you can choose to blame the economy or give excuse by saying the competition is too tough. However, when you do this, you will never have the power to control the situation. This is simply because you are giving away the power to the external factor.

On the other hand, if you take 100% responsibility and take it as a fault made by you, you will learn from the situation and have the power to control. You can say that you are not good in marketing or management, and this is why your business goes bust. You will then have the power to change and improve yourself. This is how successful people perceive themselves. They adopt this mindset for success in their life and this is the reason they are able to create amazing outcomes.

Misconceptions about Life Coach Training

As some of you may well be aware, I am a qualified Life Coach. I was lucky to be trained by Robbins-Madanes Training, so I got to learn from some of the greatest coaches in Tony Robbins, Cloe Madanes, Mark Peysha and Magali Peysha.

There are many misconceptions when it comes to life coaches. The first being that our lives are perfect. I can tell you from experience that my life is far from perfect. I still have things in my life that I need to figure out, but I do know my purpose, and that is that have a genuine need to want to help others. It is with that what gives me my greatest strength as a coach, knowing my purpose and how that will influence others in a positive way.

The second misconception is that life coaching is essentially therapy - it is not therapy - there is a difference. I don't look to overly analyse the past, but look towards the future, and help bridge the gap between where you are now and the potential future you have.

One of the greatest feelings is when I work with a client and we do some imaginary work about what they would like to have in their life and how that makes them feel and then this allows their subconscious to work out the steps they need to take to get to the desired result in the time-frame that they have set themselves.

I always think that having someone to discuss your goals with is really important, because you will eventually achieve them if you are disciplined enough, but it can be a faster journey if you have someone who can help you work out the plan for you and then you know the exact steps you need to take.

This is why you should consider having a free 30 min discovery session with myself as a coach so that we can talk about your goals and where you want to go in life.

Simply go to https://jbryantcoaching.lpages.co/coaching/ and register your interest. Before the 31st August 11:59pm (GMT) you can also be in with a chance to win 4 Life Coaching sessions to help you kick start your journey towards your goals.

The Mindset For Success

Yesterday I finished a bootcamp with John Lee. For those who do not know him, he is one of the best people to train you for having a better business using social media - you can find out more at https://tinyurl.com/JohnLeeBusinessCoach.

So for me it was really interesting in how 80% of success is the mindset. It is no different for whatever your goal is you have  - whether you want to learn to build a business, lose weight, better relationships etc.

The right mindset is the difference between succeeding and not succeeding.  I know this to be true and I put that in to practice with myself and the clients I teach.

I want to grow my business, I make no secret of that, because I want to have a better life and as such I have to invest in my education to be able to do that.

The video below is a great insight to the mindset of those who are making it at the top and how they started with little or no money but their resourcefulness got them through to where they are today.

Enjoy!

Why The Best Leaders Must Rock The Boat

If your priority or preference is to merely fit in, get along, and be popular, you probably are not ready to lead effectively. While it is true that our greatest leaders often seek to unify various factions, in order to seek some sort of consensus or unity, anyone who merely wishes to emphasize the same-old, same-old, approach, you'll never achieve optimal results. Rather, it takes someone who will step forward and do what's right, as well as needed, prioritizing the best interests, needs, and concerns, of his organization and its stakeholders, rather than his own self-interest, desires, or personal agenda. One might relate this to it being far more important to seek the best results, and taking timely action, and rather than straddling the proverbial fence, being ready, willing and prepared to ROCK the boat, to achieve whatever is in the best interests of those he serves.

1. Ready; reasonable; rational; rationale; realistic; relevant: If you want to lead, it is helpful to understand what's happened in the past, as well as present needs, but, simultaneously, focusing on the most relevant approach, in order to enhance the organization's sustainability. Training, learning, judgment, wisdom, valuable experience, and actual expertise, need to be combined, to assure you ready for prime time. Others must perceive your approach as a rational and realistic one, and while you must strive to make a needed difference in a proactive manner, you must have the courage to articulate, explain and justify your rationale.

2. Opportunistic; open to options: Be prepared, so you can not only take advantage of opportunities that might present themselves, but even more importantly, have the ability to create your own! Avoid the tendency to prejudge or proceed with a personal bias (or slant), but rather maintain an open mind, and consider a variety of alternatives and options.

3. Clear; choice; cooperate; connect: Avoid cloudy thinking, but rather observe and see things clearly and fairly! Understand that it's up to you, and your choice, as to how to proceed. Seek valuable cooperation, by being considered fair, and strive for a meeting of the minds. Often, the difference between superior and average leadership, is the ability to connect with one's stakeholders.

4. Kick it up a notch; keep momentum; know what to do: Never settle for good-enough, but push yourself upward towards the goal of excellence. Proverbially, this means that a great leader must move into a higher gear, to get things of value, done and achieved. Leadership often depends on developing, and then maintaining the momentum, so that others want to buy into the vision, get more involved, etc. However, this requires the work and effort necessary to assure that you are prepared, and know what needs to be done, and then actually do it!

Fence straddlers should not pursue leadership! Have the courage to ROCK the boat, if necessary, to enhance awareness, and motivation, etc.

Even the Best Leaders Must Constantly Improve

Perhaps nothing is a bigger obstacle to effective leadership than complacency and/ or the belief that one knows and does everything perfectly, and can't improve! In everything we do, and perhaps it is even more obvious in leaders, each of us can always get better in some way, learn more, and enhance one's performance, assets and abilities. Times, scenarios, events, etc., are constantly changing, and until (and unless) one admits that he must keep learning and getting better, he will never become the best that he can be! No matter how experienced, expert, well - meaning, successful, well - intentioned or effective one is, even the best leaders must constantly IMPROVE!

1. Being a real leader demands a conscious effort and commitment to innovate, investigate, maintain one's integrity, make an impact, create and deliver upon one's consistent ideology, and to do so with a creative imagination that focuses on doing the best possible job for his organization and those he serves. True leaders develop a quality intuition based on experience and true expertise.

2. What methods do you consider, and which methodologies do you believe will make a real difference? Is your modus operandi set in stone, or do you remain flexible enough to consider the best alternatives that will make your group strongest and most relevant?

3. Have you examined your priorities and their essential value and the best possibilities? Quality leadership demands strong and effective planning, to make a difference rather than merely holding on to the status quo.

4. Real leadership must focus upon the most significantly relevant approach and considerations. If you want to lead, examine you true reasons for wanting to. When was the last time you took an objective look at your personal rationale and reasoning?

5. Only when someone remains open to various options and alternatives, will the group become best positioned to take advantage of the most significant, needed opportunities, as they present themselves. There is no room for someone who leads in a closed - minded way!

6. A true leader is directed by his vital, vibrant vision. It permits him to visualize the possibilities, and only by doing so, can he (and his group) improve and become better. When one strives for a meaningful goal, with an intense focus, he looks at and visualizes possibilities, and is capable of proceeding with the necessary vim and vigor needed to make his organization stronger.

7. This process is an ever evolving one, which embraces empathy, focused on the best way to serve and enrich the membership experience. To do so, a leader must realize he needs to improve, and goes after, and participates in many valuable experiences, so as to gain the highest degree of expertise.

Without committing to improvement, no one can ever lead as well as he could and should. The reality is that even the best leaders must constantly IMPROVE!

How To Be The Best Leader: Top Qualities You Should Have

Whether you are a new and inexperienced leader or a seasoned one, it's always beneficial to review some aspects of your leadership skills. Contemplate on the following top five qualities the best leaders possess.

1. Be a good role model and lead as you want your leader to be.

The very first thing that distinguishes a good leader from one that's not is how he interprets the real concept of leadership itself, and how he makes use of it for the benefit of his team and his company as a whole. As a leader, your chief role is to lead your team to achieve results that will improve the company.

This can be accomplished by empowering, trusting, and setting good examples instead of using your power and authority for personal gain and please ego. It's may be a bit harsh to hear, but it's a reality. The best leaders are role models for their teams.

2. Work the hardest to set the example.

Being the leader doesn't exempt someone from pure hard work. In fact, it should be th opposite. The best and most successful leaders, whether they manage international firms or smaller companies have to understand this principle, which is the important of working the hardest to set a good example. A company lead by bosses and superiors sitting comfortably in their offices just barking orders, criticizing and making a lot of negative comments would bring their teams down to failure.

How can a leader expect and get the best from his team if he does not display a good example himself? Being the leader still brings in nice advantages and privileges such as flexible time when needed, but it also give you the extremely vital duty to work as hard as you can alongside the team that you lead and looks up to you.

3. Putting your employees first in all circumstances.

Leaders make a lot of major decisions all the time. The best leaders will always try to think of and consider the well-being of the company and the employees. One very vital thing to keep in mind is that a company is nothing without its employees or workers, whoever they are. So when faced with a tough decision, a good leader with a good understanding of the importance of a company's workforce will always put his people first.

4. Expressing yourself the right way.

Sometimes, it's tough for leaders to accept that they're filling a position that requires certain skills they may not yet have. Leaders sure have differences in the way they deal or communicate with other people. But the best leaders know how to adopt a style that would suit an individual. They find out the best way to interact or communicate with people with varying personalities.

Paying attention to what employees are trying to say is one of the most important thing in terms of honing your communication skills. By careful and attentive listening, instead of rushing, and perhaps only hearing what you want to hear, your response and the way you react will be so much more adapted to the needs, questions, and concerns of your employees.

5. Do exactly as you say and mean what you say.

Sometimes, it's hard to keep promises made to employees, and it's a fact that disappointed staff members don't make great employees. While making promises is not at all wrong, you should always carefully think before committing yourself to something that is perhaps not feasible to keep later on. Only commit to what you are able to deliver.

Not being able to keep promises tend to send a message to your employees that you're not in control of the situation. This may cost you your credibility and their trust.

Leaders Take Action

If one wants to set himself apart from the masses that are in leadership positions, and thus become an effective leader, he must have the courage of his convictions, a vision for his organization, goals he wants to achieve, and most importantly, an action plan for implementation. Without the action plan, viable action rarely occurs, and without taking action, not only when necessary but also when advisable, an individual does not become a true leader.

Many individuals falsely believe that there are leaders that too quickly take action, when they actually should wait. However, if someone takes rash and hasty action, without proper analysis and deliberation, he is also not a real leader. An effective leader identifies issues and needs, thoroughly analyzes, plans, weighs ramifications, determines needs of the organization, comes up with back up or contingency plans, and utilizes a properly formulated action plan.

1. A true leader can never be guilty of procrastination. One of the most "deadly sins" I leader can commit is to avoid taking action, or attempting to defer action and responsibility to someone else and to a later time.

2. Leaders must be able to identify issues, and not simply do a surface analysis. Many leadership situations are complex, and it is often perilous to over simplify the issues. Identifying an issue properly means that a leader must be trained and capable of understanding nearly all of an organization's needs and issues, and the analysis should weigh the matter in terms of the organization's history, membership, priorities, ramifications, as well as the leader's vision for the organization's future.

3. Effective leaders prepare, and are often accused by naysayers as over- preparing. While a leader must not get bogged down in minutia, it is essential for him to be sure that all details are in place, there is a chain of command and assigned responsibilities, there is a review process in place, and that while methodology and approaches can vary and must be flexible and adaptable, an important vision must continuously guide decisions.

4. President Harry Truman was famous for his "The Buck Stops Here" philosophy, and true and effective leaders must be willing and able to make a decision after gathering information. A real leader dares to be great, and has the courage of his convictions. If he feels he is correct, and what he is doing is needed and necessary, he must be able to "pull the trigger" and take appropriate action.

In my last three decades of working with and training leaders, some great and some mediocre, some of large organizations and some leading small groups, I have continuously emphasized the importance of taking action. I urge all organizations to train their leadership and potential leaders so that they develop an attitude of willingness to discipline themselves to analyze, understand and review issues, and the self confidence to take important action.

How to Transform Emotional Upset Into Empowered Action

While we like to think of ourselves as rational beings, in reality our lives are ruled by emotions. Emotions upset us, drive us, intimidate us, and inspire us. They move us to action or paralyze us in anxiety, stress, and fear. For this reason, it's natural to be somewhat wary of emotions-and do what we can to avoid them or keep them at bay.

Yet, because of the real power of emotions, learning to understand and relate to your emotions in a more conscious, intentional, and empowered way is essential to living a life of greater peace, love, success, enjoyment, and purpose.

Here are 3 keys to transform your emotional experience.

Emotional Key #1: Reset the Biology of Your Emotions

Psychiatrist Dr. Judith Orloff says that "All emotions trigger biological reactions that shape your health just as distinctly as what you choose to eat or how you choose to exercise... how you react emotionally is a choice in any situation-and those choices can make or break your chances for well-being." (p.34, Emotional Freedom)

For example, when you emotionally react with worry, anxiety, and fear this triggers a stress response in your body. Stress hormones shoot through you, inhibiting your higher brain functions, elevating your heart rate and respiration, shunting blood away from your internal organs to your limbs, and shutting down your immune system in favor of sending energy to your muscles for action.

If these conditions of stress persist long-term, your body will begin to break down. You will not perform even the most basic functions such as breathing and digestion efficiently or effectively. Chronic stress also inhibits your ability to think clearly, create solutions, and relate to others with compassion.

Therefore, it's absolutely essential that you learn to counter your body's stress reaction by cultivating conscious relaxation and inner peace. Whether this is by taking a break and going for a walk in nature, taking time for recreation with your loved ones, or by learning and practicing the skills of meditation, it's absolutely essential that you take an active role to shift your body out of stress mode when strong emotions arise.

Emotional Key #2: Uncover The Deeper Meaning Of Your Emotions

While it's essential to learn to calm and relax yourself, it is just as important not to shove your emotions aside. Your emotions are an invaluable source of information, once you learn to read their language. Within each emotional experience is a seed for greater self-awareness and higher learning.

So, when you begin to feel emotions of any kind, and especially "negative" ones, pause to ask yourself, "What am I being shown in this situation? How can I learn, grow, and evolve through this experience?"

To do that, you'll first have to become aware of the specific emotion you are feeling. This requires accepting what you are feeling completely, without judgment. Not always an easy task.

However, see if you can take a step back and just notice what you're feeling. See if you can break your sense of identification with it. In other words, understand your emotion as information, not as defining who you are.

When we identify ourselves with our emotions, we are caught up in and swept away by them. We ride on the rollercoaster of emotion, which can feel scary and out of control.

Instead, see if you can label your emotion and notice it as a sensation in your body. See if you can take an investigative approach. Become curious. As you do that, you may notice that you can feel into your emotions without being consumed by them.

What if your life is like a laboratory and your emotional experiences are the raw data? See if you can recognize patterns in the data of your feelings, understand what prompts them, and see what they are asking you to realize, do, or overcome.

When you show acceptance and compassion to yourself within your own emotional experiences, you'll naturally begin to accept and have compassion for others in their emotional experiences, as well.

Emotions are here to teach us to move beyond our small sense of ourselves into deeper love and wisdom. As you learn to discover the meaning and purpose of your emotions, they become messages that guide your life.

Emotional Key #3: Use the Energy in your Emotions

While emotions contain meaningful messages, they also come with energy to do something. This is true for so-called "negative" emotions as well as "positive" ones. For example:

ANGER arises when you, or someone or something you love, is threatened and you need to take protective action or set a firm boundary.

SADNESS arises when you need to let go of what no longer serves you or what is past, so you can move forward.

FEAR arises to prompt you to take preventative action.

JOY prompts you toward expansive, expressive, creative action.

COMPASSION prompts you to care for others.

So, every emotion has a MESSAGE and ENERGY to carry out a specific type of action. Understanding your emotions helps you to receive those messages and take those actions.

So, as emotions come up, instead of being wary of them, what if you became curious and asked:

What is the sensation of this emotion in my body?

Exactly what emotion is this?

What is the message in this feeling?

What is it asking me to do?"

Enjoy your practice!

Being Emotionally Intelligent

Our natural state of being, as one with Soul, is a harmonious state of Love, in which the only feelings are of continuous peace and bliss. Therefore, if we are feeling any feeling other than peace and bliss, we have got out of balance somewhere. This is due to our conditioned and faulty thinking, which emerges as toleration's, needs and limiting beliefs. Using our Emotional Intelligence equips us to identify the message that Soul is sending us through these feelings, so we can rectify our thinking and thus move always towards Love.

Being Emotionally Intelligent is my ability to consciously comprehend my own emotional States of Being. Being 'Emotional' means that I am aware of the feeling that is my emotional state of being. Being 'Intelligent' means I have a rational knowledge or logical understanding of the situation, occurrence and circumstances that I am currently experiencing. I am Intelligent when I can consciously rationalise what is happening in my reality. I am Emotional when I can feel the awareness of my energetic state of being - my emotional energy.

Emotional Intelligence loses clarity when I confuse 'being emotional' with 'being irrational'. When I am studying negative states of being that cause me to sub-consciously react, I am learning about my own irrational behaviour that is without emotional intelligence. I am studying 'irrational intelligence'.

Being emotional is not reacting irrationally; it is being consciously-aware of my emotional state of being. I never react emotionally because with emotional intelligence I am always able to respond intelligently. Negative emotional states of being are irrational because a rationally intelligent person who is emotionally aware (intelligent) would never choose to experience them. Understanding irrational behaviour does require emotional intelligence but it is not the definition of Emotional Intelligence.

Emotional States of Being

Emotional 'States of Being' require definition before I can understand them intelligently. When I define an emotional state of being, I give it definition, it becomes a definite emotion, and I become consciously-aware of its existence.

It is my conscious-awareness of the definite nature of my emotions that allows me to be emotionally intelligent.

An 'Emotional' person is aware of their feelings as different emotions.

An 'Emotionally Intelligent' person is able to consciously name (define) their emotional state of being and create it at will, if and when they so choose.By intelligently defining an emotion, I become both emotionally aware of the feeling and rationally conscious of its definition. I cannot experience a definite emotion unless I can name it adjectively. In the absence of naming an emotion, it will remain either a positive or a negative experience, dependent on the beliefs that I hold in my sub-conscious.

I define an emotion (emotional state of being) with an adjective, which is a describing word. Any adjective that describes my feelings or my emotional state of being is an emotion.Without an adjective to describe it, an emotion is just a feeling that I don't really understand.

The Potential of my Emotional Energy

Emotion is an energetic state of being that I am experiencing. All forms of energy have a force, a magnitude and a potential. Emotions are no different. The potential of any energy is realised when the force and magnitude of that energy unite.

Electrical energy has a force called 'volts', a magnitude called 'amps' and a potential called 'watts'. They are all named after the person who first defined them. Emotional energy is more complicated because not only is its potential divided by force and magnitude but its force is divided by polarity and its magnitude is divided by gender.

The polarity of my emotions is either positive or negative and the gender of my energy is either male or female. (Anger & pride are male whereas meekness & humility are female. However, Impatience and intolerance are usually seen as negative and patience and tolerance as positive).

The degree, to which my emotional energy is unbalanced, by being divided by either polarity or gender or both, determines the intensity of the emotion that I am feeling. The greater is the imbalance the greater is the intensity of the emotional feeling. The intensity of my emotional state of being is the product of both the gender and the polarity of the emotional energy.

Emotional Intelligence requires not only the definition of my emotional state of being but the understanding of its potential for my Life.

Understanding the potential of my emotional energy requires me to be consciously-aware of:

o Its force and magnitude

o Its gender, polarity and intensity

o Its definition or Adjectivity

o The sponsoring thought or thoughts that are creating the emotion.

The Ultimate Potential of my Emotional Energy is the Pure Feeling of Love that emanates from my Soul.

Life is an emotional experience

My Emotional Intelligence requires more than my ability to manage my irrational behaviour. It requires the ability to understand my emotional experiences intelligently. The cause of my irrational behaviour is my lack of emotional intelligence. I react irrationally with what is sometimes confusingly called an emotional reaction.

I respond with positive emotion once I attain the intelligence and understanding to do so. My symptoms of irrational behaviour are created by my lack of rational intelligence. Extreme irrational behaviour caused by a lack of rational ability may be diagnosed as a mental illness by a rational person who has no emotional intelligence.

Diagnosing emotional disorder or disease requires emotional intelligence not rational intelligence, which is probably why illness is usually diagnosed as either physical or mental and not emotional. In the absence of emotional intelligence, my life became an unemotional experience as a rationally intelligent man.

In a dualistic world, the more rationally intelligent I become the more contained, disconnected and emotionally unintelligent I am. It is my experience that the more I rationalise my world with tolerance and patience the less I react with the frustration of my anger and intolerance. However, with emotional intelligence I consciously choose to be 'Accepting' instead of tolerant and 'Allowing' instead of patient. I no longer choose to be a tolerant patient who is patiently tolerating Life.

I am now accepting Life as an emotional experience because I am learning to be emotionally intelligent enough to allow it to be so.

The True Test of Emotional Intelligence

The true test of my Emotional Intelligence is whether I can be Happy & Well as a result of my conscious choice to be so. It is only my emotional ignorance that is depriving me of the happiness and well-being that is my true nature.

Happiness is an emotional feeling. How can a rational man be happy in a state of being disconnected and unemotional? Well-being is an emotional feeling. How can I feel well in a society that medicates physical and mental illness without one iota of emotional intelligence?

Having compassion for other people doesn't mean anything unless I have defined the compassion that I am feeling. Defining compassion as: "Wanting to alleviate the suffering of others", is a rationally intelligent definition of a physical desire not the definition of an emotional feeling.

It is my lack of emotional intelligence that disconnects me from my true emotional nature. A logical world has become an unemotional world that is devoid of true Happiness & Well-being and is full of sadness and sickness. We have lost our connection to our true Wealth and our true Health when, as a society, we are disconnected from our Emotional Intelligence.

In an emotionally intelligent society, the only irrational behaviour is to be unemotional and intellectually challenged by one's own emotional experiences. The challenge of a new society is for men to become emotionally-rational and for women to become rationally-emotional and for both to understand that there is no distinction between the two. The battle of the Sexes will then be declared as over.
